The Blevins Water Tower tract (#03019-03323) is a tract of timberland containing +/- 19.5 acres (per taxes) located in northeast Hempstead County, about 10 miles north of Hope, AR and 4 miles south of Blevins, AR (33.815531° North, 93.607706° West). Arkansas Highway #29 crosses the east side of the property and a dirt woods road runs along the southern property line giving access to the water tower site from the highway. The tract was mostly harvested around the year 2008 and has been left to regenerate naturally. A portion of the property containing +/- 0.527 acres was deeded over to the “Ozan Creek Waterworks Facilities Board of Hempstead County, Arkansas” for use as a water tower site. According the USDA NRCS web soil survey, the property is comprised of an assortment of fine sandy-loams that give the tract a weighted average site index rating of 81 feet for Loblolly Pine (base age 50). The timber will be ready for another timber harvest again in 17 years or so, making it a good long-term investment with ever increasing value. Should it be desired as a potential home site, the tract lies within the Blevins School District and some utilities are available along the highway.
